I am a space expert, presenter and broadcaster. I have given presentations on space for over 50 years. I have done this all over the UK and abroad and I am often interviewed on radio and TV. I was on Sky News covering Tim Peake’s mission on the International Space Station, and on both Sky News and BBC News for the passing of Neil Armstrong.

I am a space author. My book, "One Small Step" commemorating the Moon landings, was on sale around the world, including at the National Space Centre, Jodrell Bank and Kennedy Space Center. My book, “Find Out - Space Travel” was published in 2019 to mark the 50th anniversary of the first men on the Moon.

I am an interplanetary poet! NASA's Mars probe, MAVEN, is in orbit around the Red Planet. Like various other spacecraft, it has my name on it, stored on a DVD. Not only that, but the DVD also includes a poem I wrote! No other space presenter in the UK can make this claim.

Founder, The Sir Arthur Clarke Awards, 2004. To recognise and reward achievement relating to space exploration. Accepted as the Space equivalent of the “Oscars”. Current work “Island Zero” is a concept for a space habitat composed of inflatable units, and it will rotate to provide simulated gravity. This came out out of a project I ran at the British Interplanetary Society to “review and update the design of Island One”,which was based on the work of Gerard O’Neill in the 1970s. In this new concept for a relatively small structure, additional modules can be placed closer to the central hub, so it can provide multiple g-levels simultaneously. This will enable the vital medical research that is required in order to determine the best g-level to be used for long-term living in space. Companies currently developing such inflatable units incorporate the use of Vectran™, and the manufacturers’ Manager of International Marketing has described Island Zero as “the most practical 1-G space station concept I have seen”.
