Simone Piscitelli is a PhD student in his third year at University of Insubria. He is part of the Como Lake Center of Astrophysics, which represents the community of astrophysics at the university of Insubria and a collaborator of the Hot Milk project supervised by Dr. Gabriele Ponti. His current research focuses on the application of machine learning techniques to model, recognize and remove stray light from X-ray observations focusing moreover on the XMM-Newton configuration, making this work fundamental for the pre and post calibration of telescopes which shares the same XMM-Newton design. His current work also focuses on the variability of stars, trying to explore exciting information from the center of the Milky Way about impulsive eruption called flares and seasonal cycles in the X-ray band.
